How Often Do We Seek AND Obey?

So, recently, there was a fundraiser happening that is dear to my heart and a ministry that touches countless lives. I prayed about what God would have me give. I came up with amounts on my own telling myself that even tho small it all helps and monthly amounts saying that surely God would honor my devotion and provide going forward.

Well, I wasn’t getting an answer. I kept praying and asking him to be clear as maybe I just wasn’t hearing him. Truly feeling that I needed to hear him and not just decide on my own and awesome because it was in his name I knew best, I waited and continued to wait. As I waited and I listened he didn’t speak to me directly at first. A song and then a comment on the radio (christian station) made me stop and think.

I prayed again asking if the answer was simply no and this time I felt the Holy Spirit answer yes. Over the last couple of weeks and through the understanding and questioning of my answer I have come to understand that it’s not always about the answer, sometimes it’s about waiting for and obeying the answer.

There are many verses about praying at all times but the one that I believe applies best here is

There was a time not long ago even that, yes, I would have probably prayed about it but then, when I didn’t get an answer, I would have decided and acted on my own saying it’s a worthy and honorable cause. And yes, it’s both however, God will provide for that cause but it’s more important for me to listen and obey!

God’s wisdom and understanding are ALWAYS higher than ours and he wants our love AND trust.

Always remember, You are loved, You are chosen and, You are never alone!
